Open Access Statement

JETS is a fully open access journal. Every article it publishes is free for anyone, anywhere, to read, download, share and reuse online from the day it is published.

100%
Open Access
CC BY 4.0
Open Licence
No Paywall
No Embargo

The Journal of Engineering and Technological Sciences (JETS) is a fully open access journal.

Every article is freely available online from the day it is published, without paywalls, registration requirements, or embargo periods. Readers can access, download, share, and reuse published content according to the applicable open licence.

01
Open Access Model

Our Open Access Model

JETS follows the gold (full) open access model. This means that:

✓
Every article, including research articles, reviews, letters, and correction notices, is openly available on the journal website immediately upon publication.
✓
Readers do not pay to access any content online, now or in the future.
✓
All content is published under an open licence that allows reuse.
✓
The journal does not place any article behind a paywall and is not a hybrid journal.
Printed Copies Printed copies of JETS issues are available on subscription for libraries and readers who want them. The print subscription covers only the cost of printing and delivery; it gives no additional or earlier access to content, which is always freely available online.
03
Reader Rights

What Readers Can Do

Without asking permission from the authors or the journal, readers may:

Read, download and print articles.
Share articles by email, websites, repositories, and social media.
Use articles in teaching, including course packs and learning platforms.
Translate articles into other languages.
Reuse figures and tables in other publications, with credit to the source.
Mine text and data for research, including by automated means.
Licence Conditions The only conditions are those of the licence: proper credit, a link to the licence, and an indication of any changes.
04
Publishing Costs

Cost of Publishing

Open access publishing is not free to produce. Editorial management, peer review coordination, typesetting, DOI registration, similarity checking, hosting, and preservation all have costs.

At JETS these costs are shared between the publisher and the authors of accepted articles.

4.1 · Article Processing Charge

Article Processing Charge (APC)

Authors of accepted articles pay an Article Processing Charge:

USD 300
Articles up to 25 pages
USD 20
Each additional page beyond 25

The APC is requested only after a manuscript has been accepted.

There are no submission fees, review fees, or colour-figure charges.

The APC is non-refundable once an article has been published.

4.2 · Fees and Editorial Decisions

Whether and how an author pays the APC plays no part in the decision to publish. Editors are not informed of authors' payment arrangements while manuscripts are under consideration.

4.3 · Other Fees

The APC covers online open access publication only. Authors and readers who would like printed copies of JETS may send the subscription request to jets@itb.ac.id .

05
Author Rights

Sharing and Self-Archiving by Authors

Authors may deposit any version of their article—the submitted manuscript, the accepted manuscript, or the published version—in institutional, national, or subject repositories, on personal websites, and on academic networks.

No Embargo

Authors may self-archive their work at any time and with no embargo. The published version should be linked using its DOI.

Details are given in the JETS Repository Policy.

06
Discoverability

Making Articles Easy to Find

Open access is only useful if readers can find the articles. JETS:

✓
Assigns a Crossref DOI to every article and deposits full metadata, including references, licences, and funding information, with Crossref.
✓
Is indexed in Scopus, the Emerging Sources Citation Index, Ei Compendex, Chemical Abstracts Service, Google Scholar, SINTA and Garuda, among others.
✓
Publishes articles as searchable PDF files with embedded metadata.
Metadata Reuse The journal's metadata may be freely reused by anyone, for any purpose.
07
Preservation

Long-Term Access

Permanent Open Access

JETS content will remain openly accessible permanently, including if the journal changes platform or ceases publication.

Preservation arrangements are described in the JETS Archiving and Preservation Policy.

08
Funder Compliance

Open Access and Funder Requirements

Many research funders and institutions, in Indonesia and internationally, require the results of the research they fund to be published open access under an open licence.

CC BY 4.0 Publication in JETS under CC BY 4.0 satisfies the open access requirements of most funders.

Authors should check the specific requirements of their funder and contact the editorial office if they need a confirmation letter.
